Tabby Cat's Desperate Plea To Enter Bathroom Is So Full of Drama

While cats are generally independent, they tend to have a bit of a cling-factor with whomever they deem their "official" person. Being away from you for even a moment is far too long and they'd really rather just tag along, if that's okay. This is exactly how Ellie, the Tabby cat, operates and she's not the least bit sorry about it.

When this sweet kitty politely requests to join her dad in the bathroom, she won't take "no" for an answer and she's making it known in the most dramatic way. Take a look!

Shared on October 11 by @ellie_thetabby , the viral video shows how the determined cat is to get into the bathroom. Despite this only being a 6-second clip, Ellie is serving more attitude than necessary. It's not her fault she loves her dad so much she needs to be with him 24/7 or else life is misery. They have a special bond that is too strong for a door to be in the way.

Ellie isn't the only cat vying for her pet parent's attention, either. Of the more than 11,000 likes, cat moms and dads everywhere are really feeling this one.

"'So this is how it ends..Have a great life and Goodbye,'" on person joked.

"That’s why I gave up shutting the door lol. My chonk will just push it open," another shared.

"Bro my cat will literally start to destroy the door if I don't open it," another wrote.

With three cats of my own—one of which is mega-clingy—I get all of this more than I wish I did!

Why Cats Follow Us Into the Bathroom

Any cat parent can tell you that even if they have a kitty who's generally solitary and uninterested in whatever you're doing, once you close the bathroom door, they'll be right there clawing, scratching, and meowing their heart out. Catster says there are a few reasons cats like to follow us into the bathroom, even if that's not the location of their litter box.

Cats do not like to be left out, so if you'e going somewhere with a closed door, you'd better open that sucker right back up. That aside, there may be an intriguing piece of the bathroom they enjoy. Soft rugs, a dripping faucet to drink from, or a new place to observe their favorite person are all possible reasons they can't stand to be away from you while you do your business or shower.

Another possibility is that the rest of the time, kitties notice we're constantly distracted or on-the-go. But in the bathroom, they know you're just sitting there with nothing but undivided attention to give them so of course they want that!

There's another theory that references cats may do the same thing dogs do when watching out for each other while one goes to the bathroom , but to me it feels a little simpler than that—they just want to be with you, and if you think of it like that, it's pretty darn sweet.
