Brazen Tabby Cat Caught Red-Pawed in Donut Heist Shows No Shame in His Game

Cats are notorious for doing sneaky, mischievous things. It's in their nature, but it's also why we love them. Loki, the Tabby cat, is a prime example of what happens when a kitty is left to their own devices, and spoiler alert: it's both adorable and hilarious.

With a name like Loki (aka God of Mischief), they were asking for trouble! Take a look at what happens when Mom tries to get to the bottom of who ate the last donut and why Loki is an A+ name for this tricky kitty!

After reviewing the footage via @loki.doestricks , there is no way Loki is guilty. Obviously he's been framed. Diesel looks a little too suspicious sitting there. And, even if Loki grabs at the donut in the end, in no way does it incriminate him for the prior crime. He's innocent, just as he is in everything he does, obviously. This previous video of Loki committing crimes is staged. And to be clear, his bio, "The most chaotic cat on the internet" is hearsay!

Whatever happened, the kitty in question has quite the following on his side.

"It's Diesel - the donut was left unfinished meaning the perpetrator was full. Loki is clearly very hungry and innocent," one person defended.

"Inconclusive, could be anyone," another added.

"Judge this is clearly causing Jury Bias. I call for a mistrial," another said.

Loki, I suggest you plead the 5th on this one until the video is confirmed as fake (which it obviously is).

    Why Are Some Kitty's Kleptos?

Cats are naturally curious creatures and that can sometimes lead to items randomly missing from around the house. According to VetStreet, there are a few reasons why cats steal things , and one of them describes cat behavior to a T.

They might be trying to get you to engage in play. If you have a cat who tends to take things you often reprimand for, they've learned they get attention, albeit negative. If they want you to focus on them instead of whatever you're doing, they might continue stealing things you want or need. Or, as the site mentions, you may have accidentally taught your cat that when they take something, you'll run after them. It's quite a fun game of chase! Cats are smarties!

A more obvious reason is they've chosen an object to entertain themselves with. By pawing it around, the item has moved, but not because they're trying to annoy you—they're just playing. Sometimes those things, like hair ties, bouncy balls, or even socks, end up in strange places (under the couch, behind the refrigerator, etc), but they didn't intend to lose them.

And finally, the most obvious reason cats take what's not theirs is because it's forbidden! For kitties that quietly eat an apple cider donut, they don't want to get caught, so they remove themselves from the item before Mom checks in. This typically means the cat learns to carry the food or item away from the original scene so they can enjoy it in peace. Cats are awesome , even when they're sneaking around!

In the case of Loki's alleged donut-eating debacle, I can't confirm or deny what may have happened, especially since the evidence remained on the counter in plain sight. Either way, justice for Loki!
