Octavia Spencer Has Unfortunate 'Mishap' with Reality Star's Dog & Handles It Like a True Pro

Academy Award winner Octavia Spencer got into a very messy situation when visiting Southern Charm 's Patricia Altschul in Charleston, SC.

It seems one of Altschul's five dogs left a gift on the sofa that got onto Spencer's nice white pants. Altschul posted the cleanup photo to Instagram.

The caption reads, "What not to do… Put your dog with a poopy tail on the sofa next to a famous Hollywood actress @octaviaspencer."

Spencer replied in the comments with crying face emojis and a prayer hands.

She handled this so much better than I would have! Very few things make me gag as much as dog messes, especially indoors .

It looks like it all ended up okay but I really hope Spencer sent Altschul the dry cleaning bill! And checked her pups more closely before letting them jump on the furniture!

How To Remove Pet Stains From Clothing

Time is of the essence with most stains, so try and address these as quickly as possible. Rinse the affected area as soon as possible using cold water, because hot water can make the stain set in . Rattle Hum Laundry says, "According to the makers of Tide detergent, the most effective way to break down the uric acid is by soaking the stained item in a mixture of baking soda and warm water for fifteen minutes, rinsing it thoroughly, then putting it in the washing machine right away.Another method to remove pet urine from soiled laundry is to begin with a cold-water rinse under a faucet, aiming the water directly at the stain. Then wash the item on the hottest recommended washing machine setting, using detergent along with one cup of white distilled vinegar. For old or stubborn stains, soak the item overnight in a mixture of two cups white distilled vinegar to one gallon of cool water before washing."

For feces stains, Good Housekeeping says, "

1. Pretreat with a prewash stain remover , like Shout Advanced Gel , or soak the item in warm water with an enzyme-containing laundry detergent, like Gr Persil ProClean .
2. Launder with chlorine bleach like Clorox , if safe for the fabric, or oxygen bleach like OxiClean .

There are also special pet stain removing products you can buy in your local grocery store, but remember, remove as much as the solid matter before treating your clothing!
