Spooky Season is happening and even dogs are getting in on the action—whether they want to or not. Cody, the Golden Retriever Mix, has a bone to pick with whomever decided his pumpkin costume was it, because he says it's not. At. All.

The things we make our dogs do for a good time! Sorry to Cody but this whole getup, shared by @ollieandcody , is amazing! Considering this sweet guy came from a shelter, where he was placed at 7 years old, he's doing all right. Thank goodness he has a loving forever family to dote on him the way Cody's mom does now—even if it includes dressing up in costume!

Don't dress them in a costume too tight or too loose because that can cause mobility issues. There also shouldn't be any low hanging pieces that could get caught. You want them to feel comfortable and not restrained or struggling to breathe or move.

Things like ribbons, buttons, or strings can be hazardous so make sure there's nothing they can chew off. Masks should be a no-go as they interfere with vision, and absolutely no glow stick accessories which contain dibutyl phthalate and can "cause profuse drooling, gagging, retching, and vomiting."

Pet comfort is everything when choosing a costume . Have them try it on a long time before you want them to wear it. Let them get used to the way it moves and feels. If you choose to take them out, don't forget a leash. Any noise or crowd could make them run off or get hurt, so even if it's not part of their costume, make a leash priority.

Not all dogs love dressing up like Cody so obviously LOVES! As long as they're safe, and adorable, just be sure to get as many pictures as you can!
