An orange cat wants to make sure his human toddler sibling is always looking her best, especially when it comes to her hair.

On October 16, 2024, TikTok user Lost in Space (@howardsmith1963) shared a video of a really cute orange cat and his very best friend with the good hair. Take a look!

The video shared on social media originally came from Heather Mees (@the_heathermees), who shared it to her TikTok account the day before.

The video features Heather's orange cat named Crush and her toddler, Cora. While one might assume the sweet toddler had just woken up and that her cool, unique hair look was a byproduct of her sleep, that's not the full story.

In the clip, we meet Cora, who is wearing really cute pajamas and has her hair sticking straight up. It turns out the orange cat named Crush is the person behind that style.

While Cora is sitting on the floor doing her own thing, Crush is walking around the little girl and acting like her hairdresser.

Crush circles around Cora, grooming the little girl's hair into a very unique sticking-up style.

Even when Cora starts crawling to explore somewhere new, Crush is right behind her, still styling her hair with her tongue.

"If anyone was wondering how Cora's hair looks so fabulous every day, [it's ]master stylist Crush," the video's caption reads.

In the caption of Heather's video, people had so much to say about the sweet cat's obsession with his younger toddler's hair, and how little Cora seemed to mind what Crush did with her hair.

    One wrote, "That’s his baby."

Another shared, "The paw on the back, like, wait, child, I missed a spot."

Someone added, "Omg!!! My cat grooms my little one like this, too!"

Another explained, "My orange girl does this too...to every member of our family. She's always been obsessed with doing our hair."

Are the Stereotypes About Orange Cats Really True?

Have you heard any of the stories from cat parents who have an orange cat to care for? If so, it's likely you've come across a few stories of what life is like for an orange cat.

According to Green Matters , orange cats don't have the best reputation because a negative stereotype follows them around when they get on set.

"In the past few years, a stereotype about orange cats being energetic or sometimes less intelligent, occasionally dubbed 'orange cat behavior,' has gone viral," the site explains. "Maybe you've even noticed your furry friend exhibiting some of these behaviors."

The stereotypes suggest that orange or ginger cats tend to be "more chaotic, more affectionate, and more stupid than other types of cats." But that's not written in stone as a universal truth.

There have been other times, just years ago, when orange cats were considered to be "more affectionate" and "friendly" than other cats. But do they really deserve all the bad orange cats get with their coat color? The short answer is no.

If you're planning to adopt an orange cat, you can't assume they'll have that same chaotic energy you might have seen another cat of a similar breed act. Like all cats, these cats can run the whole spectrum of personalities and moods.
