Chill Greyhound Catching Waves and Good Vibes Is an Instant Mood Booster

While breeds definitely play a role in our dogs' personalities and skills, when it comes down to it, they all have their own unique likes and dislikes. Some dogs truly thrive anytime they get to be outdoors, no matter what the weather might be, while others are happiest curled up in front of the fireplace if the temperature dips below 40 degrees (it's me, I'm that kind of dog). Then, there are dogs who have to be convinced to get out of any body of water they're in — they just feel most at home there.

That seems to be the case for the Greyhound in this Instagram Reel, who might just be the most chill dog I've ever seen. After seeing the way he just lets the waves carry him where they may, I'm pretty sure that in another life, this dog was a surfer.

Earlier this week, @milo_the_salty_greyhound shared this footage of this gorgeous Greyhound pup named Milo enjoying the beach and relaxing to the absolute max. This is what a beach day is supposed to be!

He's laying on the sand, taking in the beautiful atmosphere, and letting the waves do what they may. He's not bothered by it one bit! Even when the waves come in and carry him further to the shore, he just goes with the flow. I wish I could be this chill (or that my dog could be this chill... either way).

He does get up and shake off a bit toward the end of the video, but I think that's just when he's ready to move on to the next activity. Can't blame him for that.

This is a regular thing for Milo, as we can see in the other videos his parents have shared on Instagram. He actually lives on a catamaran with his humans, so it's no wonder he feels most comfortable when he's out to sea.

    Do Greyhounds Love Water?

Judging by the way Milo seems right at home in the ocean, you'd assume that Greyhounds love water. But surprisingly enough, that's not necessarily the case.

According to Pet MD, Greyhounds are actually considered a dog breed that doesn't like water (though you'd never know it by watching Milo's videos).

“They’re phenomenal on land. They run like the wind,” veterinarian Dr. Teri Kern told the site. “Water kind of puts them off balance a little bit. They’ve got those long, skinny, lanky legs…They don’t have a lot of opportunity to be introduced to [water].”

Maybe it's because Milo's family already spends so much time on the water that he did have the opportunity to get used to it? He's definitely a special pup.

Milo is living the good life, and he seems to know it. Enjoy those waves for the rest of us who are longing for a beach day!
