Golden Retriever Adorably Cares for Aussie Brother After He Comes Home From Surgery

One of the best things about having a dog in your life is all of the unconditional love they provide. There is no human in the world who is capable of being quite as happy to see you as your dog is, whether you've been gone for five days or five minutes, and that is the real deal. They don't care who you are, how you messed up at work that day, or anything else that may have gone wrong; you are their human and they love you. And adorably, that level of unconditional love can even extend to their furry siblings, too.

The best example of that is this TikTok video, which shows perfect evidence of that love existing between a Golden Retriever and her Aussie brother during a time when he needed her the most.

As dog mom @leviandmaisy explained in this TikTok video that was posted on Monday, October 14, she asked her Golden Retriever, Maisy, to watch over her brother, an Australian Shepherd named Levi, as he healed (cone of shame and all) from being neutered.

As it turns out, Maisy took those words very seriously. She didn't leave his side the entire week, keeping him company in his bed and staying right there with him no matter what might have been going on. That's true love!

"'Your dog has his own service dog!' everyone keeps saying," their mom wrote in the caption. "Looking back at some of the videos we've taken, I realize Maisy really has been that for him from the very beginning. It's so sweet to see how they've always needed each other, they were truly meant to be together."

More About Levi & Maisy's Relationship

These two dogs have always had a very special relationship, but it's extra special because Levi is deaf. Maisy has figured out a way to offer her brother the extra help he needs in that department, too, like going to wake him up when their parents get home since he wouldn't be able to hear them come in.

From the time they met, it was love at first sight. Maisy might be the younger sibling, but she's never had a problem stepping up for her big brother where she's needed.

Not to mention the fact that Maisy's also known for comforting Levi when he's stressed out about things like a lawn crew cutting their grass. She really is the greatest.

This is the kind of best friendship we all need — human or animal.
