New moms love to show off their bundle of joy to those they love and trust. When you're Lacey, the Golden Retriever, you get to show off eight adorable bundles (five boys and three girls) to one of your favorite people—your sitter, Heather.

Lacey is alight with pride as she guides Heather to her sweet litter and it's the mood boost you didn't know you needed. Watch as sweet Lacey introduces her cuties (and try to resist the urge to adopt them all!)

How Many Puppies Do Golden Retrievers Have?

According to Dogster, Golden Retrievers can have around eight puppies , so Lacey isn't the only dog mama with such a large litter. There are, however, a few factors that can determine how many puppies a Golden might have. Diet, general overall health, the age of both parents, and genetics all play a role and for first-time mothers, eight is the national average.

The puppies should aim to stay with mom until they're 8-12 weeks old with the latter being the most beneficial. The longer they're with mom and litter-mates, the better off they'll be. It's not just for nursing and weaning purposes, but the early socialization they have with their siblings is crucial for setting them up for success. Around 12 weeks is also when they're primed for training.

One day soon, Lacey's sweethearts will be off with their forever families. Until then, she'll keep doing what she's doing—being an amazing mom!
