Neglected Rescue Dog Finds New Doting Family After Serendipitous Encounter

Animals sometimes have a funny way of coming into our lives when we least expect it. Though we may not have been planning on getting a new pet, the moment they enter our world, we know it was meant to be. As the passage from a Robert Burns poem goes, “The best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry.” When they do, it's usually something we are immensely grateful for.

This beautiful Rescue Dog’s chance encounter with her now parents illustrates this phenomenon perfectly. Watch this video from October 3 to see how she ended up where right she was meant to be.

It’s hard to imagine anyone not wanting this beautiful Rescue Dog ! However, the rejection Tappie (@ happy.tappie ) faced from the family who neglected her led her into the arms of her new parents, who will cherish her. They spotted her while driving along Tapp Wood Road, which is how she got her charming name. After exiting the car, her new dad dropped to the ground to show her they were not a threat. It didn’t take her long to realize they were there to offer help, and she appeared pretty pleased to get it. Now, after several weeks in her new home, she’s thriving! She’s had her first pup cup, is learning to ride in the car, and even discovered her reflection in a mirror. While she may have had dark days at the beginning of her life, it will be nothing but sunshine from here.

Ways to Help a Stray or Lost Dog

• Approach the lost or stray dog calmly, avoiding sudden movements, as they may be frightened or anxious. Moving too quickly can prompt some dogs to run, which can be especially dangerous near busy traffic.
  
  
• Ensure your tone is soothing and soft as you attempt to build trust. Food can also help gain their confidence and bring them closer to you.
  
  
• Once you have them in your care, check for identification tags. If they are without anything to help identify them, take them to a veterinarian or shelter so they can be scanned for a microchip .
  
  
• Even if they lack identification, they may still be someone’s cherished pet. Posting online and posting signs near where the animal was found can help reunite them with their families. If they are unclaimed and you cannot care for them yourself, find an area rescue group or shelter that can help place them in foster care and ensure they find a loving family.
