PARAMUS, N.J. (1010 WINS/WCBS 880) – A raging swarm of bees attacked three workers who were trimming trees in New Jersey on Thursday morning, leaving one worker with severe stings, police said as they urged residents to take shelter in their homes.

Paramus Police took to social media to warn residents about the “large swarm of bees” in the area of Howland Avenue and Village Circle.

“Residents are urged to stay inside,” police said in a Facebook post .

The warning came after three employees from the company Three Shade Tree were injured in the bee attack shortly before 11 a.m.

One of the workers suffered severe stings and had to be hospitalized, police said.

The other two workers suffered moderate stings, according to cops.

A beekeeper responded to the area on Thursday in an attempt to control the roving swarm.

The beekeeper believes the bees will settle down and return to their nest in the tree if they’re left alone, according to cops.
