Two Arkansas Women Startled by Encounter with Mountain Lions
Two Arkansas women were hiking at an Arkansas State Park at Hawksbill Crag at Whitaker Point in Newton County late Monday evening when they encountered two mountain lions. The women had hiked to one of Arkansas' most photographed mountain bluffs in the state Hawksbill Crag at Whitaker Point hoping to get a glimpse of the Perseid Meteor Shower but instead got a glimpse of two mountain lions too close for comfort.

'It was nuts': Strong storm sends tents flying at SOAR NWA
BENTONVILLE, Ark. — Cleanup began Saturday at the Benton County Fairgrounds after a strong storm sent tents flying and people running for cover. Those who attended SOAR NWA on Friday evening tell 40/29 News that things became very dramatic very quickly. Attendees say the wind picked up, and all of a sudden, tents were blowing everywhere.
Storms Rip Through Lakes Region
A line of strong to severe thunderstorms rolled through the Lakes Region late Friday night causing power outages. Entergy reported several outages which knocked out power to much of downtown Harrison including Ozarks Dynacom Stations KHBZ and KHOZ which were off the air late last night into the early morning hours. Entergy is still reporting scattered outages in northern Arkansas with more outages in other areas of Arkansas where the storms moved through.
