How to watch Marcus Christopher in the BMX Freestyle at the 2024 Paris Olympics

In this year's Olympic BMX Freestyle competition, Ohio is going for gold.

Marcus Christopher, a 21-year-old resident of Lake Township , will be competing.

"The Olympic competition is probably the biggest competition there is," he told the Canton Repository for a story earlier this month . "There's going to be the best guys in BMX there is."

Christopher is coming off winning a gold medal at last month's X Games after being injured the year before.

"I just think my mindset after that six weeks of recovery was that once I came out here, I just rode how I knew how," he said. "I had to just ride and got back to it."

Christopher is not the only Ohioan in the BMX Freestyle, as Nick Bruce , a Youngstown-area resident, will also compete in the event.

This year's Summer Games are being held in Paris for the first time since 1924 , and the country aims to set itself apart from past iterations, according to the Olympics website.

"The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be ambitious and spectacular with a focus on economic, social and environmental responsibility. Faced with the societal challenges of the 21st century, Paris 2024 has put the key issues of legacy and sustainability at the heart of its project since the bid phase to inspire new standards," according to the site.

When is the Olympic BMX Freestyle competition?

The men's and women's qualifying rounds for the BMX Freestyle competition will be held Tuesday. The women's qualifier is set to begin at 7:25 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, and the men's will begin at 9:11 a.m. Qualifiers will move on to the finals, which will take place Wednesday. Women's finals will start at 7:10 a.m., and the men's will start at 8:44 a.m.

The BMX Freestyle will be shown on E! Entertainment Television and USA Network, and through digital streaming.
