    Summer Music on the Slopes

    We may not be able to ski at our favorite resorts right now, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the slopes during the summer. Here are just a few of the ski resorts that have summer concert series. See who's playing and when.

    Big Bear Lake

    Located in southern California, east of San Bernardino, Big Bear Lake is a year-round destination and hosts nationally touring tribute bands yearly. Local non-profit Southern California Mountains Foundation Big Bear is hosting five concerts at the Big Bear Discovery Center Amphitheater this summer. Their Music in the Mountains lineup starts July 6 and runs through August 31. Tickets are $39 for general admission or $59 for premium seats. Free parking and shuttle services are offered between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. between the Discovery Center and parking at the Meadows Edge Picnic Area parking lot. Parking and ticket gates open at 5:30 p.m. and the musical performances begin at 6:30 p.m. All proceeds benefit the Southern California Mountains Foundation .

    • 20 July: Bohemian Queen, tribute to Queen, with Forever Rod, a Rod Stewart tribute
    • 3 August: DSB, the world's greatest Journey tribute, with Heart n Butterfly, a tribute to Heart
    • 17 August: The Long Run (TLR), tribute to the Eagles, with Stevie Ray Visited, a tribute to Stevie Ray
    • 31 August: Petty Party, tribute to Tom Petty, with Gypsey Dream , tribute to Fleetwood Mac

    Deer Valley Resort

    The 20th Annual Deer Valley Music Festival will take place at the Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater in Park City, UT. The concert series brings a top-tier lineup of world-renowned artists to Deer Valley every summer. The music festival starts July 6 and goes through August 9. Ticket prices vary but start as low as $20 for some shows. The Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater can accommodate up to 4,500 guests and shows go on rain or shine. Attendees can bring picnics, blankets, and low-sitting chairs. Deer Valley also offers gourmet picnics ready for pickup on entry. Shows start at 7:30 - 8:00 p.m.

    Park City Mountain

    Park City Mountain is about 30 miles east of Salt Lake City, Utah, and has music events all summer long. There are two concert series happening this summer, the Concerts on the Slopes presented by Park City Institute, and the Canyons Village Summer Concert series. Concerts on the Slopes runs from July 9 through August 31 at the Canyons Village at Park City Mountain . Shows start at 7:00 p.m. and guests are allowed to bring picnics. Tickets vary by show and can be purchased through the Park City Institute . The Canyons Village Summer Concert Series are scheduled on select Thursday nights throughout the summer and are free of charge for all ages. Shows begin at 5:30 p.m. on the Canyons Village stage. Guests are not allowed to bring outside alcohol to the shows.

    Steamboat Resort

    Located in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, 150 miles northwest of Denver, Steamboat offers a wide variety of year-round activities including Stranahan's free summer concert series. The series runs from June 28 through August 16, and go from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The shows are free for all ages and are held at Steamboat Square.
