State Shooting Complex Location Narrowed Down To Two
A $10M state shooting complex could be built outside of Cody after the town pitched the task force earlier this week in Casper. After the passing of SF0169 and subsequent announcement was made back in March, nine towns across the Cowboy State created committees, secured acres of land, brought in experts, and compiled research to try to convince a task force that not only should the world-class complex be built in their town, but it would be a sustainable events center for years to come.
Big roadwork project on U.S. Highway 14A two years out
In two years, U.S. Highway 14A is going to start getting a facelift. At its annual STIP presentation June 18 at the Park County commissioners meeting in Cody, WYDOT District 5 representatives reaffirmed a plan to do mill and overlay work on the highway between Blair’s and the railroad tracks in Ralston.

Man shot and injured in rural Powell

Park County, WY – On Sunday, June 23rd, 2024, at 4:58 A.M. the Park County Sheriff’s Office communications center received a 911 call from a male caller advising that he had just shot another man in the leg. The injured man fled the scene after the shooting.
County approves bids for Cody landfill upgrade
Early in his nearly completed 12 years as a commissioner, Lee Livingston recalled being told the Park County Landfill would be needing a new cell before too long. At the June 18 Park County Commission meeting, Livingston and the other commissioners voted to approve the low bid of just over $841,000 for a company out of Meeker, Oklahoma, to perform the crucial lining work needed to prepare a new cell, which provides a new waste-holding unit within the site. Patriot Environmental Services was one of eight companies, all from other states, to bid on the project.
