The city of Park Falls search committee to hire a new city administrator has reached the interview phase, according to reports at the city Committee of the Whole meeting on July 8. The candidate interviews will take place the week of July 15.

According to other committee reports, the renovations are nearly completed for the new city offices and most furniture, equipment and files have been moved and organized. The city moved into former city office space in the Park Falls Public Library building in May.

The committee heard a presentation from ESA Solar regarding a forthcoming offer to lease property for a proposed battery storage facility in Park Falls. There was no action taken on the matter.

In other business, the committee took the first step in updating the city code of ordinances with a resolution adopting administrative updates, according to City Clerk Shannon Greenwood. The update reflects new changes that require the ordinances to be available at the city clerk’s office for review at least two weeks prior to adoption.

In other business regarding the clerk’s office, the committee approved a budget amendment resolution redirecting the account that funds the city clerk salary for budgeting purposes. The committee approved a new front desk policy that now requires visitors to check in at the front desk prior to visiting with staff, in the event staff are in a meeting or on the phone, according to Greenwood.

The committee approved scheduled contractor payments to Janke Builders for work on Old Abe Memorial Park, and to Angelo Luppino Inc., for work at the new city offices.

The committee held a discussion on a certified survey map for Lower Dam Road. The road is not owned by the city, but is one of the property owners on Lower Dam road, requiring the certified survey map in order to continue maintaining the road, according to Greenwood.

The committee reviewed the city raze order list to determine which owners had completed required improvements. The city attorney will send reminder letters to property owners who remain non-compliant.

The committee went into executive session regarding a TID Agreement Extension with Cornerstone Properties, LLC. There was no action taken in the open session following.
