Former speedster Michigan State wide receiver Jalen Nailor is having a strong start to training camp. Nailor “put on a show” during the Vikings’ training camp practice on Saturday. Nailor is entering his third season with the Minnesota Vikings and looking to increase his role with the team this year.

Ober (10-5) finished with a career-best 11 strikeouts, his third time this season reaching double digits. Not bad for a pitcher who wasn’t feeling well Sunday morning and wasn’t certain he could pitch. “I didn’t feel great physically, but I kept getting good results, so we kept doing what we were doing,” Ober said. Willi Castro and Manuel Margot each had three hits for the Twins, who went 2 for 15 with runners in scoring position. Minnesota won two of three to finish 7-6 against Detroit.

SUNDAY MORNING STORM CAUSES POWER OUTAGE AND DAMAGE IN CROOKSTON
A thunderstorm hit Crookston Sunday morning during the 7:00 a.m. hour. Heavy rain and strong winds caused some damage around Crookston. The storm caused a power outage, and Otter Tail Power Company reported that over 2,000 customers in Crookston were without power. By 9:00 a.m., power was restored to most of the town.

Man fatally stabbed during Minneapolis house party, police say
MINNEAPOLIS — A house party in Minneapolis took a violent turn early Sunday when a fight led to a fatal stabbing, police said.Around 3:15 a.m., 911 callers on the 3400 block of Penn Avenue North said they were at a party and heard screaming. Officers responded and found a 31-year-old man with multiple stab wounds.The man was taken to North Memorial Health, where he died. Police did not publicly identify him.The stabbing is under investigation.
