New exhibit at historic Rios-Caledonia Adobe celebrates the rich history of the Salinan tribe
The Historic Rios-Caledonia Adobe in San Miguel has been updated. A new exhibit focuses on the history and lives of the Salinan Indian People. Steve Kalar and Laverne Buckman enlisted the help and information of Tribal elders, and it is enhanced by Steve’s beautiful artwork. The Salinan People have lived in this area for at least 10,000 years.
Paderewski Festival features symphony collaboration for first time
– The 2024 Paderewski Festival will take place from Oct. 31 to Nov. 3, featuring performances, master classes, and special events across Paso Robles and San Luis Obispo. For the first time in the festival’s history, the Nov. 2 Gala Concert will feature a collaboration with the San Luis Obispo Symphony, under the direction of Maestro Andrew Sewell, and renowned soloist Janina Fiałkowska. The program will include Paderewski’s Piano Concerto in A Minor, Op. 17, along with Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture and Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, orchestrated by Ravel.
Local artists showcase work at Odyssey World Café exhibit
– Artwork by Page Graeber and Paula DeLay is now on display at Odyssey World Café. The exhibit features a varied collection of five pieces by Graeber, a long-time resident of Paso Robles. She has had a long and varied career in art after graduating from the renowned Chouinard Art Institute. Her professions have included art directing for television, working in newspaper advertising, owning an advertising agency, and teaching. Graeber currently teaches art classes on Mondays at the Paso Robles Senior Center on Scott Street.

Paso Robles Youth Arts hosting Wild West-themed fundraiser
PASO ROBLES — Join the community for an evening in the Wild, Wild West at this year’s Dining with the Arts fundraiser benefiting the Paso Robles Youth Arts Center (PRYAC). The event will feature musical entertainment from two local bands — PB&J, which includes PRYAC instructor Podge Cross, and Bremen Town, featuring PRYAC instructor Sarah Blick.
Wine Country Theatre brings Charlotte’s Web to Harris Stage Lines
– Wine Country Theatre will stage a production of Charlotte’s Web at Harris Stage Lines from Oct. 18-27. Directed by Veronica Surber, this production marks her directorial debut. “When we needed a director, I jumped at the chance to get my feet wet with this show. I knew I could find the right storytellers, and I succeeded. The cast is ready to get started, and that makes me so happy!” Surber said.
