Big Lots Closing 13 Stores In MD And VA
(Bowie, MD) — More than a dozen Big Lots stores in the DMV are closing as part of a belt-tightening move. The retailer says it needs to trim its underperforming stores to shore up its balance sheet. In the DC area, Big Lots locations in Bowie, Laurel and Lexington Park are on the chopping block in Maryland and stores in Manassas, Woodbridge and Fredericksburg are facing closure in Virginia. The company is still working out the final details.

New senior housing community planned for central Pa.
Messiah Lifeways has announced that it will build a new campus in York County, about seven miles from its flagship campus in Upper Allen Township. The Fernecrest campus, for those aged 62 or older, will be located at 100 Spanglers Mill Road in Fairview Township. The campus will include 15 floor plans ranging from apartments to courtyard homes, cottages, and estate homes. Officials are expected to break ground on the 85-acre farmland property in October.
