Man Dead, Woman, Three Children Injured In Towson Fire
Crews were called shortly after midnight to the 8400 block of Greenway Road in Towson on Aug. 26, where there was a report of an apartment building on fire. Upon arrival, firefighters were met by flames coming from the second floor of the building, and while battling the blaze, they found the man upstairs.

MARYLAND PARENTS COULD STOP CHILDREN FROM REPEATING 3rd GRADE: Third-graders struggling to read won’t necessarily be held back, according to an updated draft literacy policy from the Maryland State Board of Education. The policy initially mandated that students unable to read at grade level would repeat the third grade, but the revised version allows families to seek a waiver that would permit their students to move into the fourth grade. As part of the waiver process, those families would commit to making sure their child gets additional support, such as summer school programming, before-or-after school tutoring or instructional support outside of the school day. MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — It's back to class for Montgomery County Public School's 160,000 students, the largest school district in the state of Maryland. Students were greeted with a lot of excitement as the poms team, dance team , and band all performed a show for students as they walked into Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland. This year MCPS is launching a transportation hotline for parents to call if they have any issues with their kid's bus.
