Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests to Phase Out Leased Offices in Grangeville in Cost-Cutting Move
KAMIAH - In a strategic effort to reduce expenses, the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests will phase out occupancy of their leased offices on Airport Road in Grangeville, Idaho. According to a recent press release, this decision is expected to save up to $300,000 annually. The Forests will begin vacating the space in October 2024, with a complete exit planned by 2027.
Fire risk remains high as progress is made on Gwen Fire
JULIAETTA, Idaho - The Idaho Department of Lands has released new information on the status of the Gwen Fire and the new plans to hopefully begin containment. Update July 29 8 p.m. - The portion of U.S. Highway 12 that was closed due to the Gwen Fire has now reopened. The Nez Perce County Sheriff’s Office said they also be re-opening McGary Grade Road, Hubbard Gulch and Gifford Ruebens Road.
