Child airlifted to PMC after side-by-side crash near Lava Hot Springs
LAVA HOT SPRINGS — A male juvenile was airlifted to a local hospital after being seriously injured in a UTV crash southwest of Lava Hot Springs. The side-by-side crash was reported around 5:45 p.m. Thursday on Wolverine Pass. Bannock County sheriff's deputies and Search and Rescue personnel responded to the crash. An emergency helicopter was requested, landed at the scene and airlifted the boy to Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash but is expected to survive his injuries, authorities said. The boy's name and age haven't been released. No one else was injured in the crash.
