Court sentences Boise man to 50 years after fatal shooting over a case of beer
BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — A 34-year-old Boise man has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for shooting a man at a house party in Boise in January 2022. Ada County Prosecutors report that 34-year-old Jed Earls was sentenced for the murder of 22-year-old James "Matt" Cuellar. Prosecutors say that Earls attended a house party on January 15, 2022. Witnesses testified that Earls antagonized Cuellar throughout the night.

Idaho ranks 39th in the nation in population but third in water use, trailing only California and Texas. The state irrigates over three million acres of land – the fifth highest in the nation – and uses more water for irrigation than any other state except California. Its aquaculture industry produces more commercial Rainbow Trout than any other state but also requires the largest freshwater withdrawals for aquaculture in the U.S. On top of that, Idahoans rely on freshwater resources for drinking supplies and recreation. Idaho’s water is a critical and precious resource, and its management is highly complex.

Selkirk Fire responds to Scheider Fire in Sagle, multiple buildings destroyed
SAGLE, Idaho — Selkirk Fire responded to a blaze that spread to multiple buildings and surrounding brush in Sagle. According to Selkirk Fire Rescue and EMS, several agencies responded to the structure fire in the 100 block of Scheiders Road. Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple buildings involved, with the fire extending into the vegetation. Known as the Scheider Fire, the blaze has burned approximately four acres of land.
