Tense Moments for Paullina Thursday
A large law enforcement presence went to Paullina Thursday Morning. Shortly before 10 am, O’Brien County officials received a call from an individual claiming to have shot another person and said they would commit further acts of violence against other individuals and law enforcement. Law enforcement responded to the 4500 block of Red Wood Ave., northeast of Paullina. Precautions were made for nearby homes and businesses, and Mill Creek campground was evacuated.
Valentine Firemen Respond to Small Grass Fire on Thursday
The Valentine Volunteer Fire Department responded to a small grass fire on Thursday afternoon. The call came in at about 3:40 central time for a grass fire reported north of Valentine on North Ridge Road. Cherry County Dispatch advised that there were a couple private trucks that were on scene and that no structures were in immediate danger.

One South Dakota youngster is hoping to parlay his 'business in the front, party in the back' hairstyle into national fame this summer. GLACIAL LAKES ENERGY DONATES $50,000 TOWARDS BAIRD SLEDDING HILL PROJECT
This year’s Leadership Aberdeen class has been raising funds for the past several months to purchase a snow maker machine and snow groomer to make Baird Hill a safer, more usable sledding hill for families to use throughout the winter months.
