Allen said Fox “refused over 40 commands to cease and desist, and she drove her vehicle in a manner that caused the on foot deputies to fear for their lives.” In the video, officers could be heard repeatedly shouting for Fox to get out of the car and yelling “Stop, I will shoot you.” Several attempts were made to open the door of Fox’s 2007 Cadillac Escalade to no avail before her vehicle lurched toward law enforcement and a series of gunshots are heard. With the mortally wounded Fox inside her vehicle, it coasts to a stop in a ditch. Afterward, one of the officers who discharged his weapon, is clearly distraught, repeatedly stating “Oh, God” and “Oh my God” several times. “It was reasonable to assume that any thought that the vehicle was disabled, or that the subject had surrendered were forgone,” the release from Allen’s office said. “Both deputies were placed in the position of being on foot in an open field with a driver who had no intention of surrendering and who was in command of a fully operational vehicle, which could reasonably be considered a deadly weapon.” <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> Medical examiners found that Fox’s blood contained methamphetamine in high levels. Allen said officers were unaware of the suspect’s impairment levels. “Specifically, the amount of meth found in her blood was double that amount normally associated with irrational and violent behavior in meth abusers,” Allen said. The first video begins with the pursuit, which reached high speeds of around 70 mph, and with Fox reportedly driving on the wrong side of the road.
