Local Heat Advisory in Effect Until Friday Evening

PARSIPPANY, NJ - A heat advisory remains in effect until 8pm EST on Friday, August 2nd, according to Accuweather.

This means the head index values can go up to 100 degrees.  Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Be prepared by drinking plenty of fluids, staying in an air-conditioned room, staying out of the sun, and checking up on relatives and neighbors.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency, so be prepared to call 9-1-1.
