Meet a Columbus High School grad who's driving the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile
It’s 27 feet long and 11 feet high, and when she finishes her yearlong journey, Columbus native Sarah Oney will have driven with her copilot one of the six famous Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles around 20,000 miles to more than 200 events across the midwestern United States. “Sarah had a lot of people to go up against, but I think it was clear from the moment we met her that she absolutely has sunshine energy,” Schmitt told the Ledger-Enquirer. “… When she was going through the process, it was so clear that she was ready to take on a role that just really spreads joy because she really is joyful. … Sarah’s just begun the job, but she’s already made so much magic along the way.” Meet Sarah Oney here.
CCC Offering Ways for Area Students to Save Money
Coffeyville Community College is introducing a zero-cost opportunity for high school students to earn college credits. his initiative aims to make higher education more accessible and affordable, reflecting CCC's commitment to community-driven education. Interested families living in CCC's service district can contact their high school guidance counselors or CCC's Student Success Center for details. Additionally, CCC is eliminating technical program fees for high school students enrolled in Career and Technical Education programs.

CARTHAGE, Mo. — Citizens in the City of Carthage have filed a recall petition against council member Tiffany Cossey. Misconduct and incompetence are the top two reasons cited for wanting to remove Cossey from the Carthage City Council. A group of citizens went door-to-door collecting signatures and on Monday they turned in a petition with 520 signatures from residents in Ward 5 – Cossey’s ward.
