Mandy Moore is tugging at our heartstrings and has us chopping onions yet again — but this time, not as her beloved This Is Us TV mom character, Rebecca Pearson. Instead, the star gave the entire internet big feelings after announcing via Instagram that she put her widely beloved family home up for sale. Between the beautiful story about the pivotal family moments had in the Pasadena, California residence and the jaw-dropping pictures she posted of the mansion — the actress has us all virtually gripping our fingers to the doorpost pleading not to leave. And we don't even live there!
"It’s the end of an era," she wrote. Before reading any further, from sheer muscle memory as a 'This I Us' viewer, you could really just start balling right here.
"Today, our home that we lovingly restored from the studs, is available for its next chapter and owner," Moore continued.
"It’s bittersweet as @taylordawesgoldsmith and I got engaged, married and brought home two babies here but I’m thrilled to see who she goes to next. It’s SUCH a special space."
I'm not crying. You are.
If you have a childhood home or a special family residence you put a lot of work into, then you can empathize with the bittersweet feelings Moore has about letting it go — even if where you're going next better suits your needs. This is especially the case with a home you "restored from the studs" and raised children in, as Moore has.
Naturally, people remain STUNNED by how beautiful the mansion is, especially those who followed Moore's restoration journey or fell in love via the viral tour the actress gave the Architectural Digest in 2019.
From the in-ground pool to the marble waterfall kitchen island and matching backsplash to the giant glass slider doors opening up to a balcony and seating area overlooking the mountains — every square inch of this home is a true vision. So many home decor and real estate fans have long coveted it over the years.
"You my gosh! I based our kitchen renovation off yours," one fan wrote. "Obsessed with this house. Can’t wait to see where you go next!"
"This house was my inspiration!!! Loved it so much," someone else chimed in.
"This is my dream house . I even recreated it on The Sims 😍," another fan revealed.
And yet, it's time to move on. One supporter put it best:
[There] are always homes that hold special memories. But your home does not keep the memories. You take them with you. Always and enjoy. There will be many homes and many memories."
Ditto.
