    Today’s forecast is 112

    – Portions of California, including North County, remain under an excessive heat warning until 9 p.m. PDT Wednesday. Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures ranging from 106 to 116 degrees are expected, with today anticipated to be the hottest. Nights will also remain very warm.

There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness, especially for young children, the elderly, those without air conditioning, and individuals who are active outdoors.

Authorities recommend drinking plenty of fluids, staying in air-conditioned rooms, avoiding the sun, and checking on relatives and neighbors. Hiking in the mountains and hills should be avoided. When outside, people should wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing and limit strenuous activities to the early morning or evening. It is important to recognize symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and to take immediate action.

During outdoor work, frequent rest breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments are advised. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency; call 911 if it occurs.

Young children and pets should not be left in unattended vehicles, as car interiors can reach lethal temperatures within minutes. The public is urged to monitor the latest forecasts and warnings for updates.

The forecasted high temperature for today in Paso Robles is 112, according to the latest forecast from Weather Underground.
