    – Local artist Darcee Guttilla will be the featured artist for the Art in the Library program from Aug. 1 to Aug. 31. Guttilla, who has worked as a field biologist, discovered her passion for printmaking in 2015 after taking a one-day class at Jingle Town in Oakland, Calif.

Guttilla’s artwork is inspired by local landmarks, Midcentury Modern aesthetics, nature, and her travels. Her series, “California Classics,” is a collection of linoleum and wood block prints that capture the architectural wonder of Midcentury Modern California design. Her subjects include California relics that have become local landmarks in Paso Robles, San Luis Obispo County, and other parts of California.

“This fast-paced, keeping-up-with-the-Joneses world needs reminders that quality is timeless,” Guttilla said.

The exhibit will be on display at the Paso Robles City Library throughout August.
