Event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, in San Luis Obispo

    – Achievement House, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities, announced its upcoming Harvest Festival. The event will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Achievement House’s San Luis Obispo location, 3003 Cuesta College Rd.

The Harvest Festival is organized to celebrate National Disability Awareness Month and the fall season. Visitors will be able to participate in several activities, including a pumpkin patch, a thrift and nursery shop, food, and a costume contest. A donation drive for fall goods will also be held during the event.

The pumpkin patch will allow attendees to select pumpkins to take home for Halloween. Visitors can also explore the thrift store and nursery on-site for unique items and seasonal plants. Food will be available from Achievement House’s on-site kitchen, and live music will accompany the event. A costume contest will give participants the chance to win prizes.

A fall goods donation drive will be held, where attendees are encouraged to bring items to contribute to Achievement House’s community initiatives.

“We are excited to host this Harvest Festival as a way to bring the community together in celebration of National Disability Awareness Month,” said Crystal Nevosh, executive director of Achievement House & NCI Affiliates, Inc. “This event not only highlights the importance of inclusion and awareness but also offers a fun and festive way for families and individuals to enjoy the season.”

Achievement House has been serving the community by providing job training, employment opportunities, and support services to individuals with disabilities. The nonprofit operates over nine thrift stores on the Central Coast, and the festival will showcase the talents and contributions of its members while raising awareness of its mission.

Proceeds from the event will support Achievement House’s programs and services.
