Hope Family Wines is first business partnership
– Bilingüe Español Tutoring, based in Paso Robles, is now offering a workforce education program aimed at local businesses and wineries to provide English language learning resources for Spanish speaking employees. The first business to partner with Bilingüe Español Tutoring for this program is Hope Family Wines.
“Hope Family Wines is well-known for prioritizing their employees’ well-being, so it’s no surprise that they’re the first to see the value in investing in their workforce’s professional and personal growth. We’re excited to partner with them as they demonstrate a deep commitment to supporting and empowering their staff,” Bilingüe Español Tutoring owner Nora Vasquez said.
According to Vasquez, the program “aims to enhance employees’ English skills, benefiting their personal development and boosting workplace communication and efficiency.” Each session will last 45 minutes and are personalized to each group’s requirements. Vasquez, along with educator Matthew Quada, lead the sessions and aim to expand to other wineries and businesses. Classes at Hope Family Wines started in August of this year.
“I’ve known Nora for years, and I’ve always admired her teaching skills. When she decided to expand into adult language tutoring, we immediately signed up to be her first client. We are a family-first winery, and as we continue to grow and expand, we want our employees to grow with us. Nora’s program fits perfectly into this mindset and mission,” said Hope Family Wines executive vice president Gretchen Roddick.
Bilingüe Español Tutoring was started in 2020 and assists students ranging from second grade to senior year with Spanish and English language skills. Services include exam preparation, resources to improve speaking, reading, and writing abilities, and more.
“We designed the program to be flexible and responsive to the employees’ schedules and needs, which is why it’s been so well received. This collaboration with Hope Family Wines is a testament to the company’s dedication to growth, community, and mutual support,” Vasquez said.
In addition to Bilingüe Español Tutoring, Vasquez’s career has included being a teacher at Georgia Brown Elementary School. She volunteers with children at the Atascadero Bible Church by giving free English lessons once a week, with the San Luis Obispo County of Education – Migrant Education Program with English lessons to students, and with Líderes Hispanas Costa Central. Her passion lies in providing support for local communities in building both English and Spanish skills.
“This program is off to a great start at our winery. We have high interest and attendance from our team, and it’s making a difference. We have no doubt that Nora can bring similar results to other wineries and businesses. It’s an exciting new service that will no doubt benefit our local community,” Roddick said.
