Summer Fun at the Silver Slipper!
It’s that time of the year again when the Summer inexplicably drives us out of our homes to both indulge in and escape from the sunshine and heat that accompany it. On the beach front it’s a time for bathing suits, partying, and camaraderie- all of which can be found at the Silver Slipper Casino Hotel. This Summer they’re upping the ante on Summer fun with their weekly Rumble on the Beachside Rally, which promises to delight the senses with cool cars, good food, and music.
One Book One Pass Pizza Chat Turns the Pages
PASS CHRISTIAN (GG) — One Book, One Pass encourages everyone in Pass Christian to read the same book and then join together to discuss it as a community. The 2024 selected author is Lauren Groff and the book selection is “The Vaster Wilds.” Enthusiastic readers gathered Wednesday, June 26th, at the Pass Christian Public Library to open the discussion with a lively Pizza Chat.

Author to speak on “Growing Up Downtown” at Historical Society luncheon
The Pass Christian Historical Society will hold its monthly luncheon on Monday, July 22, at noon. The group will welcome author Pat Murphy, a Bay St. Louis native, who will do an extended presentation on his book, “Growing Up Downtown Bay St. Louis: A Memoir of Small Town Mississippi Life, 1950-1970. The book is a personal story of one man’s coming-of-age in a small town on the shores of the Mississippi Sound that was and continues to be significantly impacted by major hurricanes and its proximity to New Orleans.
