    Human remains found along Long Island road as man, 72, arrested

    Human remains have been found along a road in Long Island , leading to the arrest of an elderly man. The 72-year-old was arrested after the remains were discovered along a busy roadway, according to police.

    The find was made at around 4.30pm on Thursday, June 27 along Montauk Highway near County Road 101 in East Patchogue. The remains were taken to the county medical examiner for an autopsy and identification.

    Shortly after, Garry Cowell, of Patchogue, was arrested and charged with concealment of a human corpse and evidence tampering, reports NBC.

    He was set to be arraigned Friday. Attorney information for Cowell was not immediately clear. The victim's identity has not yet been revealed but an investigation is ongoing.

    Meanwhile, in the Bronx , a man is being hunted for "forcibly touching" a young girl on a bus . The attack happened when the 12-year-old was riding an MTA bus through West 162 Street and Ogden Avenue at 3.15pm on Tuesday.

    The girl was approached by a man who sat next to her and "forcibly touched her private areas over her clothing," before fleeing. The girl received Emergency services rushed to the scene and the girl received treatment. The extent of any injuries sustained as a result of the daytime attack , as well as the girl's current condition, is not known.
