    Paterson Man Arrested in Connection with July 5 Shooting

    Jhon Garcia, 29, Paterson, was arrested on July 16 and charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon.

    PATERSON, NJ - A 29-year-old Paterson man has been arrested and charged in connection with the July 5 shooting that left one man injured.

    According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-In- Charge Isa Abbassi, Jhon Garcia, was arrested on July 16 and charged with Attempted Murder, Unlawful Possession of Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, and Certain Persons not to Possess a Weapon.

    As previously reported, at approximately 5:22 a.m. on July 5, members of the Paterson Police Department were dispatched to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center to meet with a 33-year-old male from Passaic, who suffered from a non-fatal gunshot wound. Members of the Paterson Police Department were able to determine that the shooting took place in the area of Park Avenue and East 18 th Street.
