PATERSON — A bottle-throwing incident at the Peruvian festival on Sunday resulted in minor injuries to three women, including one who is pregnant, and prompted police to shut down the event an hour early.

Local law enforcement officials said no one was arrested at the parade and festival, events that drew a crowd of about 12,000 people.

Authorities said the festival was supposed to continue until 8 p.m., but police started dispersing the crowd at 7 p.m. after the bottles started flying among those gathered at the Memorial Drive event.
