Elizabeth Student Participates In Rutgers STEM Ambassador Program
ELIZABETH, NJ - An Elizabeth student was among several from Union County to participate in Rutgers University’s 4-H STEM Ambassador Program. The event was held at Rutgers University in New Brunswick from July 8 through July 12. The program aims to train students to lead STEM activities and share their skills with their peers. Rockland County Launches TOR Ferry Connection Bus To Serve Weekend Ferry
New City, NY – County Executive Ed Day and the Rockland County Department of Public Transportation have announced that Transport of Rockland (TOR) will launch the TOR Weekend Ferry Connection bus service starting on Saturday, July 6th. The bus service will provide connecting transit service for Metro-North Hudson Line customers who travel to Haverstraw via the Haverstraw-Ossining Weekend Ferry, enabling them to travel beyond the Ferry Landing via public transit. The TOR Ferry Connection will also provide service for Rockland residents who want to use the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry to travel to Westchester or to NYC via Metro-North Hudson Line trains from Ossining.

HUDSON COUNTY, NJ - The Hudson County Board of Commissioners approved over $8,498,822 in Open Space Trust Grantees for numerous open space acquisitions, park improvements and historic preservation projects throughout Hudson County. ROSELLE PARK, NJ — The borough grew a little brighter recently, as Union County Connects, a 501(c)(3) charity that advocates for safer trail networks in Union County, unveiled a brand-new mural featuring a historical rendition of the Rahway Valley Railroad Engines. Painted on the Son-Rise Document Solutions building at the outskirts of the borough, the mural welcomes travelers into Roselle Park. The mural was created by a Jersey City-based street artist, known as "Distort", who has composed many murals throughout New Jersey. DENVILLE, NJ - Registration for the 2024 Lakeland Hills YMCA Golf Outing is now open. The event will be held on October 7 at the Rockaway River Country Club in Denville, located at 39 Pocono Rd. Tickets are being sold for $400 per golfer. The tickets include an 18-round game of golf, golf carts, breakfast, lunch, cocktail hour, a dinner buffet, an open bar, and a silent and live auction. Golfers can also register in groups of four and save $100. Each golfer must register at the same time to be eligible for the discounted rate. Off-duty NYPD officer arrested in Brooklyn: police
BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) – An off-duty NYPD officer was arrested Sunday night in Brooklyn, according to authorities. Noe Tattegrain, 37, was taken into custody around 10:30 p.m. He was charged with assault and suspended without pay, according to authorities.
