WA Auditor’s Report Raises Concerns over WSDA Egg Inspections
According to a report from the WA State Auditor, the Washington State Department of Agriculture is lagging badly in its legally-mandated egg inspection program. By law, WSDA must inspect egg production facilities once a year, and visit egg packing facilities every quarter. Production facilities are where the eggs are laid by the chickens and then gathered and transported to packing plants.

(The Center Square) – The Washington State Office of Financial Management has released its fiscal impact statement on Initiative 2117, the measure to prohibit state agencies from implementing a cap-and-trade program and repeal the 2021 Climate Commitment Act. Wapato woman sentenced to 3 months after Calvary Cemetery crash injures man
A Wapato woman who drove impaired and injured a man near Calvary Cemetery in Yakima has been sentenced to three months. Heather Lea Marquez pleaded guilty to vehicular assault in connection with the April 26 crash. She was sentenced Monday to 90 days, the low end of the sentencing range. The range, based on her criminal history and the charge, was three to nine months.
