Three-Alarm Brushfire Underway in Orondo; Estimated at 40 acres
The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is reporting an active brushfire on Hwy 97, near Beebe State Park. The blaze stands at approx. 40 acres. Per the Orondo Firefighters Association, this is a three-alarm blaze. Traffic control is in place. Oregon man sentenced for stealing dead parents’ benefits for more than a decade
A man who drew nearly $200,000 in benefits intended for his parents long after their deaths was sentenced in federal court to home detention and probation. Paul Douglas Carey perpetuated the scam for more than a decade after his parents had died and lied to federal agents when caught, falsely claiming his mother and father were still living, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Rachel K. Several guns stolen in early morning break-in at Richland hardware store
Richland, Wash. — A break-in that resulted in several guns stolen took place in Richland early Wednesday morning. At around 2:30 in the morning, Richland Police say the thieves got access to Grigg's Ace Hardware off of George Washington Way by breaking a window. They then proceeded to steal several guns.
