VOTE: Who is the South Shore high school football Preseason Defensive Player of the Year?

We're less than a week away from the start of the South Shore high school football season , and players from every school are more than ready to build upon their highlight reels.

These defensive playmakers come in many different forms: from imposing nose tackles, relentless edge rushers and shutdown cornerbacks. The local landscape has an abundance of all.

Here's your chance to vote for the best.

Below are the names of 65 defensive players we are monitoring this fall. Names were compiled through a form the Patriot Ledger sports staff sent out to all local coaches this summer, as well as training preseason camp visits.

Cast your vote for the 2024 Patriot Ledger Preseason Defensive Player of the Year. Voting closes Tuesday, Sept. 10.
