McDonald's to keep $5 meal deals around until December. Here's what to know

It was a summer of savings at many fast-food restaurants this year, and why should this fall be any different?

As it turns out, McDonald's has a bunch of deals happening over the course of the next few months to satisfy the hunger - and the wallets - of its customers.

But there's a catch. You have to use the McDonald's app to get the upcoming deals, so make sure to download that wherever you get the rest of your phone apps.

“Value has always been part of our DNA," Joe Erlinger, president of McDonald’s USA, stated in a release over the summer. "We’re focused on living up to that legacy and offering delicious, affordable options customers can enjoy any time they walk through our doors, go through our drive-thru or place an order through our app.”

The first deal will start tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 18.

So, what are these upcoming deals at the fast-food giant? Here's what to know.

What's the Meal Deal?

McDonald's is continuing the $5 Meal Deal combos and adding a new sandwich. Through the Meal Deal, guests get their choice of a McDouble, McChicken or Hot and Spicy McChicken sandwich, a small fry, a four-piece chicken nugget, and a small soft drink for $5. The McDouble meal deal costs $6 in some locations.

This deal "will be around through the end of 2024," according to McDonald's.

What are other upcoming deals in the McDonald's app?

The following are the deals coming up in the immediate future:

• Customers can get a 50-cent double cheeseburger on National Cheeseburger Day tomorrow, Wednesday, Sept. 18.
• Guests can get a $2 McCrispy in honor of National Fried Chicken Sandwich Day on Nov. 9.
• Visitors can get a 10-piece Chicken McNuggets for $1 between Nov. 4 – Dec. 2 (valid once per week).
• Free Fries Fridays are still in effect as they were this summer. Through this deal, customers can get a free medium fries with any $1 minimum purchase through the McDonald's app.
