Results are in: Patriot Ledger/Enterprise's Girls Soccer Early-season Players of the Year

Upon being introduced to the 87 South Shore and Brockton-area Players to Watch , our readers were recently tasked to vote for the top one.

The results came in.

The South Shore side garnered 79,122 total online votes for its 57 candidates, and the Brockton area side garnered 134,674 total online votes for the 28 candidates.

Who won The Patriot Ledger girls soccer Early-season Player of the Year?

Duxbury High senior Maddie Gage received 21,641 votes (27 percent of the poll) to earn the honor.

Gage is a playmaking midfielder for the Dragons, who opened this season on a seven-game winning streak.

Rounding out the results, Marshfield's Kayla DiPasquale (14,524 votes), Weymouth's Ava DeWitt (12,184 votes), Silver Lake's Caitlin Snow (10,803 votes), Hull's Elly Thomas (6,260 votes), Duxbury's Lauren Sutliffe (1,808 votes), Hanover's Abby Kajunski (1,632 votes), Silver Lake's Avery DePaul (1,454 votes), Plymouth North's Amelia Finley (1,408 votes) and Milton's Michela Ruzzo (1,159 votes) and North Quincy's Maddie O'Donnell (1,070 votes) received significant support.

Who won The Enterprise girls soccer Early-season Player of the Year?

Whitman-Hanson's Elizabeth Kowlski received 54,268 votes (40.3 percent of the poll) to earn the honor.

The junior Kowlski is a striker spearheading the Panthers' offense this fall.

Rounding out the results, East Bridgewater's Ariana Cofran (32,254 votes), Cardinal Spellman's Clare Varano (12,155 votes), Cardinal Spellman's Peyton Galgana (11,737 votes), East Bridgewater's Kayleigh Shea (7,838 votes), Stoughton's Emma Tran (5,784 votes), Whitman-Hanson's Brooke Bell (4,775 votes) and Stoughton's Caitlin Driscoll (1,334 votes) received significant support.
