Could a flight of spicy chicken wings take down an NBA champion?

Boston Celtics' NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown went on the internet talk show "Hot Ones " in anticipation of the upcoming 2024 - 2025 NBA season.

The premise of "Hot Ones" is that the host of the show, Sean Evans , asks the guest a series of questions, with each question paired with a chicken wing prepared with a different hot sauce, which progress in spiciness.

The goal of the guest is to answer each question while withstanding the heat of each wing, and if they tolerate the pain, they can promote their own projects at the end of the video.

Brown is not the only NBA star to appear on "Hot Ones," as basketball legends like Shaquille O'Neal, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have also appeared on the show.

Evans asked Brown about Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla and what was the NBA MVP's favorite idiosyncrasy of Mazzulla's, and Brown said that Mazzulla said once that there's no such thing as a foul, "either you die or you don't."

"One of the things he's coined is, we call our offense the killer whale offense," Brown said. "We study how killer whales attack as a unit, and then we've built our offense kind of off killer whales."

Brown then said that Mazzulla has his eccentricities but the results, as in Boston's 18th banner, speak for themselves.

    Jaylen Brown on Kyrie Irving

Brown was asked about studying players' rhythms in order to play against them, and he said that among players with hard-to-figure-out rhythms, Luka Dončić and Kyrie Irving rank among the most difficult to play against.

"Kyrie has a unique rhythm," Brown said. "He has a lot of counter-moves, like he can go and pivot off both feet, he can shoot with both hands, he can drive both directions, which makes his rhythm a lot harder to track."

Did Jaylen Brown make it through all the wings on Hot Ones?

Brown was able to make it through all of the wings, including the last one sauced with the the Last Dab: Xperience hot sauce, which is 2,693,000 Scoville units hot, according to the Heatonist website . He promoted his current projects, including this coming NBA season and his new performance brand shoes as well as Black Wall Street.
