    Friday night lights: South Shore high school football scores and highlights

    Move over Amazon Prime, there's plenty of Thursday night high school football in Massachusetts in Week 6.

    The South Shore features seven Thursday night showdowns this week. There's still plenty of action on Friday, with 17 local games. On Saturday, Brockton, Milton Academy and Thayer Academy are all in action.

    ThIS week features some big league games, with arguably the biggest coming in the Patriot League Fisher Division when Scituate heads to Hanover on Friday night.

    Thursday, Oct. 10

    Canton 12, North Attleboro 10

    The Bulldogs (4-1) handed North Attleboro (4-1) its first loss of the season. JT Norton ran for a 1-yard TD and threw a TD a pass to Kareem Chaplin (6 yards).

    Randolph 67, Hull 22

    The Blue Devils improve to 4-1 while the Pirates fall to 2-3. Mehki White scored five first-half TDs -- on runs of 41, 27 and 77 yards, a 35-yard interception return, and a 50-yard punt return. Abraham Cornet (10 yards), Haggai Joseph (65 yards), Seneca Spencer (8 yards), Zach Noel (15 yards) and Santos Santiago added TD runs. Zymari Bailey made 7 tackles and intercepted a pass for the Blue Devils. Hull QB Luke Dunham threw a 9-yard TD pass to Isaiah Green and ran for two scores.

    Wachusett 27, Milton 14

    The Wildcats fall to 3-3. QB Patrick Collins threw TD passes to Harrison Hinckle (16 yards) and Ronan Sammon (36 yards). Wachusett scored three straight touchdowns, over the first, second and third quarters, to break open a 7-7 game.

    Cohasset 22, Carver 19

    The Skippers improved to 3-3 by handing Carver (4-1) its first loss of the season. Mike Wildfire threw a 1-yard TD pass to Gus Greene for the winning score. Wildfire also ran for a TD and threw an 11-yard TD to Nolan Flaherty. Jack Balzarini ran for 2 TDs in the loss and threw a 75-yard TD to Nolan Kenneally.

    Mansfield 42, Stoughton 0

    The Black Knights fall to 0-5.

    Hingham 27, Whitman-Hanson 6

    The Harbormen improve to 4-1 while the Panthers fall to 1-4. Hingham QB Jake Varholak was 12 of 19 passing for 145 yards and 2 TDs, both of them to J.T, Reale, covering 24 and 38 yards. Reale had 4 catches for 87 yards. Fin O'Brien's 78-yard kickoff return for a touchdown broke open a tight game (Hingham was up 7-6) in the second quarter. Jack Stocks added a 1-yard TD run in the third quarter. Henry Sellers kicked 3 PATs. In the loss, Johnny Walker threw a 40-yard TD pass to Brady Markowski (76 yards receiving) for W-H. Walker finished with 7 tackles (1 for a loss) and blocked a PAT. Markowski had 10 tackles, and Lukas Hamilton intercepted a pass.

    Abington 15, Sandwich 14

    The Green Wave (3-2) denied Sandwich's potential go-ahead 2-point conversion with 45 seconds left. Michael Reilly threw a pair of TD passes, 8 yards to Jake McSharry and 11 to Kris Paterson. Ryan Solimini hauled in a 2-point conversion for Reilly.

    Friday, Oct. 11

    Duxbury 47, Plymouth North 16

    Jack Rees scored four first-half TDs for the Dragons (4-1). Plymouth North falls to 2-3.

    Governor's Academy 39, Milton Academy 7

    The Mustangs fall to 1-3.

    Thayer 14, Brooks 13

    The Tigers (1-3) picked up their first win of the season.

    Blue Hills 24, Old Colony 6

    The Warriors improve to 2-3.

    BC High 20, Malden Catholic 7

    Carter Carroll ran for a TD and threw a 56-yard TD to Gavin Barth for the Eagles (4-0). Brendan Ryan also ran for a 1-yard TD.

    Archbishop Williams 36, Arlington Catholic 12

    Nick Schwartz threw four TD passes to lead the Bishops (1-4) to their first win of the season. Devin Sheehan hauled in two TD catches (29 and 50 yards). Colin Waldron (29 yards) and Luke Deftos (51) each caught a TD. Blake Nelson added a rushing TD.

    Bridgewater-Raynham 41, Durfee 14

    The Trojans (2-3) scored three TDs on defense/special teams.

    Fairhaven 43, West Bridgewater 8

    Ryan Nunes threw a TD pass to Colin O'Neil in the loss for the Wildcats (3-3). Nunes added the 2-point conversion.

    Scituate 52, Hanover 0

    The Sailors improve to 5-0 while Hanover drops to 3-2.

    Bishop Fenwick 45, Cardinal Spellman 0

    The Cardinals drop to 0-5.

    Foxboro 34, Oliver Ames 7

    The Tigers fall to 2-3.

    Plymouth South 32, North Quincy 28

    Tim Durocher threw the winning TD pass to Max Arnold with 32 seconds remaining to lead the Panthers (3-2) past the Raiders (3-2). In the loss, Mike Galligan threw for 294 yards and three TDs. Marques Rodrigues-Smith had five receptions for 175 yards and two scores. Tim Toland returned an interception 88 yards for a TD.

    East Bridgewater 18, Middleboro 13

    The Vikings improved to 5-0 while the Sachems fall to 1-4.

    Norwell 48, Rockland 0

    The Clippers improve to 4-1 while the Bulldogs fall to 0-5.

    South Shore Tech 42, Cape Cod Tech 12

    The Vikings improve to 2-3 as Brady Hofeman (85 yards rushing) and Dillon O'Brien (125 yards rushing, 66 receiving) had two-TD days. DJ Decoste threw for 123 yards, including a 66-yard TD to O'Brien. Corey Newell (2 yards) and Ryan Holmes (35) each had a TD run.

    Pembroke 15, Quincy 14

    The Titans (1-4) earned their first win. The Presidents fall to 2-3. In the win, Anthony Pento threw the winning TD pass to Maxwell Farrow. Michael Giese scored the winning 2-point conversion.

    Diman 24, Southeastern 13

    The Hawks fall to 0-4.

    Marshfield 48, Silver Lake 6

    Davin True ran for a pair of TDs for the Rams (4-1) and Tor Maas threw a pair of TD passes to Jake Brilliant (50, 20 yards). Will Devine and Dylan Burhoe each returned returned an interception for a TD. Kyle Fickeisen had a 10-yard TD run. Wesley Griffin had a 58-yard TD run for the Lakers (3-2).

    Holbrook/Avon (0-3) at Roxbury Prep (1-4), 6

    Saturday, Oct. 12

    Andover (3-1) at Brockton (1-3), 1

    OFF: Braintree (2-3), Weymouth (5-0)
