R.G. Ortiz Ordered to Pay $600K for Exploiting Grieving Families
Following an April lawsuit from the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP), R.G. Ortiz Funeral Homes–which operates in the Bronx, Brooklyn and Manhattan, including a location at 235 West 72nd Street–will pay more than $600,000 to consumers they exploited. The company will also pay $100,000 in civil penalties.

Thunderstorms could spoil some Labor Day plans as they move into the Harrisburg area later Saturday, the National Weather Service says. The weather service says strong to severe thunderstorms with gusty winds, hail and heavy rain that could lead to flash flooding are possible this afternoon into the evening.
