Six people have been taken into custody following an investigation into narcotics activity at a residence in the Village of Fredonia. Narcotics investigators from the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office, Dunkirk Police Department, Jamestown Police Department and Fredonia Police Department executed a search warrant at 166 Newton Street shortly before 5:30 AM Thursday, with entry gained by the Sheriff's Office SWAT Team. Investigators located 27-year-old Dakota Cordell, 34-year-old Brett Plucinski, 36-year-old Joseph Culmo, 31-year-old Nicholas Culmo, 26-year-old Faith Grisanti and 63-year-old Richard Culmo inside the residence. As a result of the search, investigators seized 81.8 grams of fentanyl, six handguns, a rifle, 50 suboxone strips, a quantity of oxycodone, scales and packaging material for the sale and distribution of narcotics and $6,170 in cash. Cordell, Grisanti, Plucinski, Joseph Culmo and Nicholas Culmo were all charged with two counts of 3rd-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and 2nd-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. Cordell was additionally charged with 4th-degree criminal possession of a weapon and had three arrest warrants. Joseph Culmo also had an arrest warrant from Fredonia Village Court. Richard Culmo was charged with 1st-degree criminal nuisance. He was released on an appearance ticket, while the other five suspects were transported to Chautauqua County Jail for centralized arraignment.

In a renewed effort to undermine New York’s burgeoning cannabis industry, the Cannabis Impact Prevention Coalition and the Cannabis Industry Victims Seeking Justice have taken their fight to the State Supreme Court in Albany County. Their latest lawsuit targets key state agencies, including the Cannabis Control Board (CCB), Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), Dormitory Authority, and the Department of Taxation and Finance, alleging that these entities are unlawfully using state funds to support cannabis-related programs under the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA).

Popular supermarket chain Stop & Shop will be closing many stores before the end of the year. All across the nation, everyday shoppers are being squeezed by higher and higher prices at the grocery store every time that they go. Because of this, many chains have now deiced to close with Stop & Shop being the latest chain to close dozens of its stores all across the country.

New York State Police are seeking your help in identifying an individual accused of breaking into a store in the middle of the night. A more accurate description is that the break in took place in the early morning hours. Take a look at the video and pictures below to see if you recognize the suspect.

Edward Kalikow first sued to evict Keith Zaret in November 2020. It took him four years to finally get his tenant out. Zaret, like so many New York tenants, quit paying rent when Covid hit, then claimed financial hardship when Kalikow, the third-generation head of an eponymous Long Island-based firm, filed for eviction. A statewide moratorium kept Zaret in his apartment in Forest Hills, Queens, and after a two-year wait his application for rent relief was okayed.
