(Nebraska City) -- Nebraska City officials hope to have a new police chief by the end of this month. During its regular meeting Monday night, the Nebraska City City Council recognized Police Chief Dave Lacy for his service to the police department after he announced his retirement last month. The council also approved the appointment of Captain Lonnie Neeman as the Interim Police Chief, effective July 13th. Convict going to prison for 2023 Kearney assaults
KEARNEY, Neb. (KSNB) - A judge sentenced a man to prison Tuesday for 11 crimes related to assaults in 2023. Brian Reeves, 40, was convicted in May for 11 crimes, including attempted used of a deadly weapon, 3rd degree domestic assault, strangulation, two counts of terroristic threats, two counts of false imprisonment, two counts of violating a protection order, one count of witness tampering and one count of misdemeanor third degree assault.
