Attleboro man drowns in Rutland jet ski incident, authorities say
Authorities recovered the body in Turkey Hill Pond on Saturday. A 46-year-old Attleboro man died in a jet ski incident in Rutland on Saturday, Rutland police said. The Rutland Police Department and Rutland Fire Department were dispatched to Turkey Hill Pond around 4:30 p.m. after reports of a jet ski overturned in the water, police said in a statement. Witnesses reported the jet ski’s operator was “in depressed” before going missing underwater, according to police.

HOLLISTON — An Ashland man died Sunday after the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car, authorities said. Holliston police identified the man as Andrew Palumbo, 62. An email sent yesterday to friends of WWRA said that in late August Mike will be leaving WWRA to take on the role of Boatman at MIT Crew. In case you are not a rower, the Owl assures you that Boatman is a critical role on any crew team, overseeing boathouse operations for all of college’s rowing teams. I can still remember Dave, the Boatman at Wellesley Crew, without whom our team would have been a jumbled mass of boats, oars and trailers.
Winchendon veterans housing project receives economic boost from Fitchburg bank
A $25 million project to convert two vacant Winchendon school buildings into low-income housing for veterans and their families has received another economic boost. Representatives of the Fitchburg-based Rollstone Bank and Trust dropped by the Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center in Gardner to deliver a $15,000 check to go toward the group's plan to redevelop the former Streeter and Poland Elementary Schools into 44 apartments for homeless and high-risk veterans in the community.
