Diamondbacks' Eugenio Suarez: Power surge continues
Suarez went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 8-6 win over Kansas City. Suarez's second-inning blast gave Arizona an early lead and was the first of four Diamondback home runs. He's doing his best to put a season-long slump behind him; Suarez entered the month of July with six home runs and has hit that many over the last 14 games. During that span, he's knocked in 17 runs with a .692 slugging percentage and 1.014 OPS.
ABOR, NAU, 20 Arizona school districts form coalition to redesign high school
The Arizona Board of Regents, Northern Arizona University and several school districts are forming a coalition to redesign high school. The effort is called H5 and it’s being spearheaded by NAU's Arizona Institute for Education and the Economy. H5 stands for high school, higher education, high wage, high skill and high demand jobs.

Chandler mom, son buy gun store franchise
Chandler resident Turner Drake had recently graduated from Grand Canyon University and was looking to start his own business. He found it at C2 Tactical. “I was home from college that weekend and I walked into the room and saw a sign requesting franchisees,” Turner said. “I had been looking for a business opportunity, especially in something that I loved.”
Circle K, nonprofit team up on emergency kits
Police officers know that seconds count in an emergency and having the tools readily available on hand makes saving the life just that important. That’s why the nonprofit Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association (ALECA), partnered last week with Circle K at the chain’s Tempe headquarters to pack life-saving kits that would “stop the bleed” during emergencies for officers, victims, perpetrators, and K-9 dogs.
