Correction: Due to a PBS News error, an earlier version of this story incorrectly identified some of the speakers on Tuesday night of the DNC; a number of governors and senators who represent battleground states will be speaking later in the week. The story has been updated.

The Democratic National Convention continues Tuesday, following a kickoff that included an unannounced appearance by Vice President Kamala Harris , fiery speeches from UAW President Shawn Fein , Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock and former Secretary of State Hilary Clinton , as well as a closing address by President Joe Biden , who up until last month was expected to be the nominee challenging former President Donald Trump for reelection.

Former President Barack Obama, Michelle Obama and second gentleman Doug Emhoff will speak on Night 2.

Our partners at PolitiFact will have live fact-checking starting at 5 p.m. EDT in the chat below.
