Asked how he plans to deport more than 11 million undocumented immigrants during the presidential debate Tuesday, former President Trump slammed the Biden-Harris administration claiming their policies have allowed “terrorists,” “criminals” and “drug dealers” to come into the United States.

Trump claimed without evidence that crime rates in Venezuela and other countries “all over the world” have drastically decreased because “they’ve taken their criminals off the street, and they’ve given them to [Kamala Harris] to put into our country,” creating “one of the greatest mistakes in history.”

He also claimed that “migrant crime” is occurring at “levels that nobody thought possible” and causing American crime rates to be “through the roof.” Debate moderators Linsey Davis and David Muir frequently countered Trump’s false claims during the debate, including his assertions about crime statistics.

Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump met for their first and possibly only debate on Sept. 10, hosted by ABC in Philadelphia. Harris replaced President Joe Biden as the Democratic presidential nominee this summer after Biden gave a troubling debate performance in June, increasing calls for him to drop out of the race.

According to the latest PBS News/NPR/Marist poll, more than two-thirds of Americans say they will watch all or most of the debate. While many voters have already made up their minds, 14 percent of Americans say the debate will have a great impact on which candidate they choose.
